I don't know how many of you have been participating in the discussions on CARM, or even if I am the first to mention this, but we have had the wonderful opportunity to watch someone "get it" and convey their wonder upon truly being filled up with the Holy Spirit. The person is Belteshazzar, and if you want to read his testimony, it starts with the moment that all of the things others who have met the Holy Spirit have been saying over and over. It touches my heart that the message finally got through carried there by music. Music is a living prayer that we share. I just wanted you to know, and if you care to you can drop by and read up on it. What is even more interesting is to search out Belte's posts prior to accepting the Holy Spirit fully, and his posts that have been made since. It is a living, breathing example of the working of the Lord Jesus Christ. It reaches across the barriers of denomination, tenants of faith, and personal beliefs and speaks of the love that binds us together as believers.

By the way, the thread you will be looking for is named the same as my thread here -- "Nothing Left But Grace." It would also be interesting to read the thread named "What Happened" too.

Cool, cool, cool!! The testimony under "What Has Happened" just made me grin from ear to ear!!

Praise God! It is amazing to me how He reveals Himself in different ways to people, but yet what He reveals about Himself is so familiar and unifying. That can only be explained by the Holy Spirit!!

God is awesome!!

Maybe I am the only one but I don't know how to get on CARM or how it is run,or its purpose. I do know it is mentioned often here. Peggy

I caught up on that whole story last night.

What an amazing turnaround.

Almost over night it was like the light finally went on. Someone who had staunchly defended Adventism, tooth and nail for over 2000 posts, finally saw that all the rule keeping in the world had no affect on his salvation.

Belt, praise God for His amazing grace.

Peggy, the address to CARM is carm.org. It's fuller name is Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry. One of the discussion forums there, under Heterodox Christianity, is called Seventh Day Adventism. That is where the threads discussed above are at.

I had to log in to see them so likely you would need to register if you haven't been there before. Happy reading!

I've only gone in there once or twice to take a peek, but I'm familiar with Belteshazzar. In fact, his posts were so stubborn and, in his words 'ornery', that it really turned me off and I didn't go back in there.

I went in to read the "Nothing but grace" thread and it's really touching! One thing he said that really popped out at me - He said "In Christ, I am already found righteous in His sight...I can't keep putting my robe on righteousness upon the robe Christ has already given me...Who goes to church wearing work clothes over a sunday suit anyway?" Isn't that the truth?! That really can be said for anything we do as Christians some times, but of course it's especially significant when your faith is in the laws you keep and not in Jesus' perfect grace.

Yes, Praise the Lord! Thanks for sharing that Belvalew.

Wow! How great God is :-) That after all this time he took the words of a song and reached Belt's heart... I praise God for this miracle, for each miracle He works as He brings us one, by one, to the foot of the cross!

Belva,
Thanks for putting this on here. As you know, I have been on CARM and saw that. I just did not share here.
God is awesome in how He gets to someone.

I just went back into carm, and tried to read through some of the threads. Boy, some of those people have so much faith in their works that you can't even reason with them! I can really see what a miracle Belts thread was.

I need some advil.

I have had some good dialog with Belt. At times I would take a stern approach with him, but mostly I tried to be kind and just present what I believe.

I couldn't believe what I was reading when I read his first posts after the Holy Spirit moved on him though a song he was listening to. I had to read it several times. Praise the Lord. We are working on other posters 2 of which are SDA pastors. The Lord has them there for a reason and it sure ain't to convert us. Your prayers are needed for them and that we will be kind to all SDAs that post. Sometimes I feel that they are getting steam rolled.

My handle over there is onthebeam. Someone ask if I am a gymnastic and worked out on a beam. :-)
I am just catching the light beams that Jesus sends. I pray that we will stay on His Beam.

Keep lookin up, Bob

Hi Mary, I just read you posts over on CARM. Boy, you surely have gone through a lot in your exit out of Adventism. You are a brave woman to have taken your children across the country and start a new life. You are an inspiration.

I posted over there that if you are close to our neck of the woods we would like to get together. We live close to Middlesboro, KY. Also if there are any others close to this area please come out of the woodwork and make yourselves known. We all have several common bonds. It will be a great reunion. Bob

It would be neat to plan a formers gathering somewhere here in the south east. I know some former SDA ladies are going to have a mini-get together as part of Women of Worth over in Gatlinburg at the end of this month (I expect that's going to be a lot of fun!), but something just for Formers and not gender or specific would be great too!

Blessings,

Mary

How about a something like a Former-Adventist Convention, or a Former Adventist General Conference in someplace like Denver, complete with nation wide TV advertising, say on the Fox news Channel between six and seven p.m., televised affair. The word has gone out over the internet, to churches for months in advance.
I can just see it now. The M.C. walks out on the stage and yells into the mic "Who's glad to be free of Adventism?" and the crowd goes wild!!!!
All I can hear in my minds eye is just one solid roar for ten minutes; the crowd finally quiets and sits down.
Then he yells out "Jesus" into earsplitting amplifiers and again the crowd jumps to their feet and pandemonium breaks loose.
I can see it as the cameras pan to faces in a head on view of the tears streaming, mascara running, hands raised to heaven for another solid ten minutes. People have come from far and wide.
Your local dreamer and visionary. Yes, thank you, thank youÖÖÖÖÖ

I sat and brooded and ask the question, how can such imperfection as my own enter into perfection, how is this possible?
After such a long time of deliberating, anguish of heart, works that had come to nothing, the tears flowed freely as the realization dawned upon my tired and wounded heart, there was nothing left but grace!

I labored and labored to attain that which I could notí
My soul languished sick with doubt and worry, not a minute of reposeí
Then Jesus light shown round about and drove away the darkness, sin and doubtí
And peace swept oer my soul, the darkness stripped away; as he stood with out stretched handsí
I looked around to see my works, saw nothing left but graceí

We keep bouncing that thread to the top. As far as I know, Belt is the first person posting in opposition to those of us that they call "antinomians" who has finally seen the light. The sense of joy over this one obvious Holy Spirit enlightenment has fueled so many to continue to soldier on. I'm sure that Onthebeam and others agree with me. When I first read Belt's post I thought he was playing with us (given his past record), but by the third sentence I could taste the Holy Spirit in his words and I was overwhelmed. The joy I still feel fills me to the brim. That is why I had to share this with you. We so rarely get the opportunity to have that experience and it should be shared. Perhaps I should have asked Belt's permission first, so I hope he doesn't mind. I'll go back right now and correct that mistake.
