I still have them in a tote on wheels it is so heavy not sure how Im going to dispose of it. what did you all do with the books? goodwill, ebay, burn?? also I have wondered having the cult material in my home was like leaving the devil on my book shelves. do you think it has a stronghold on your household when you keep it? That's great, Dawn! I think you should destroy them in whatever way possible--garbage, burning, etc. Don't let other people get a hold of them!

I definitely think that it can be compared to keeping other occultic/pagan things in the house (such as the "family altar" in Japan that Ramone talked about).

(Of course, it may sometimes be necessary to have certain SDA things in the house for research/refutation/ministry purposes.)

I double bagged my SDA books so the bag would not break. Then I trashed them. Some have burnt them. Just destroy them so no one can read them and be influenced by them.

I have kept mine for the reason Jeremy stated. They're also there in case I ever forget just how crazy (and deceptive) this system really is. I have an instructor's guide for a Revelation Seminar that I would not part with for love nor money (okay, maybe for the right amount of money <smile>). It has all the instructions for what to say and when, and how to "set the person up for the kill" (and we all know what that is). Having that is priceless.

I keep mine for reference when posting on CARM. I have been using the index to Ellen's writings quite a bit. Now, I am getting use to going to the White Estate and doing searches. Still, there is good ammunition in the Testimonies. Almost on every page. :-)

I wouldn't give them to Goodwill or sell them - either keep them or trash them. It can only have a stronghold on you if you read them and believe what they say.

I trashed mine. Any I find at the Goodwill, I buy and trash also, just to keep them from deceiving some innocent. I count it money well spent.

Good idea, Toria! It is akin to kindly asking the JWs to give you several extra Watchtower copies so that others will not be deceived.

This week's news highlighted some Muslim check-out employees at the Target stores in Minneapolis who refuse to scan pork products. Interestingly, I have never heard of Adventist check-out personnel who did the same. Apparently, the Muslims have a higher standard in their "health message" than Adventists have. It is not simply a prohibition against eating pork, but it is not touching it as well (Lev. 11:8; Deut. 14:8). Paradoxically, Adventists love their breathable athletic shoes, personal soaps, toothpastes, margarines, and even Jello products.

Repeatedly, I have read news reports about Muslim mullahs who are requesting that the United States Defense Department delete pork from the diet of American military personnel on Iraqi soil. The Iraqis are greatly insulted by Americans bringing pork into their country. I must admit that our government is needlessly insensitive to the wishes of the Iraqi people on this issue.

We have over 8' of her books. I have chosen to keep them and file them in a bottom book cabinet. I now attend a Baptist church, where I recently gave the Baptist pastor a copy of Cultic Doctrine. I have also shown them to the Pastor and his wife. They had previously thought that Seventh-day Adventism was a Christian religion. There is nothing quite so convincing to innoculate non-Adventists against Adventism as showing them her actual books. Showing them, for example, pages 55-56 of Early Writings leaves no doubt whatsoever in any non-Adventist's mind that Ellen was a complete mental case. And then Councils on Foods. Every Christian pastor NEEDS to know what Adventism really teaches. Tell them about the deceptive Bible Story Book series that SDAs try to slip into doctor's offices and church libraries. The are wonderful witnessing tools for innoculating potential future Adventists at your local Christian church. Everyone needs to know what Adventists really teach so they won't be sucked in by 3ABN's smooth talk, etc. It is a fact that Adventism can not exist without Ellen White.

bobalu-would you tell everyone on carm that I haven't been there because my work blocked the site. Apparently, the computer learns where you visit and then filters it periodically and blocks you. I spent years on that site as Pheekifree...can you tell them what happened to me? I am working on getting a home computer and then I will be back in business. Thanks.
