So funny! No one can make fun of Adventist traditions like an Adventist can!

My favorite part of the video clip is the disclaimer at the end: "All-Star Adventist trading cards are in no way a guarantee that your child will make it to heaven."

Of course not...to an Adventist, nothing is a guarantee of that!

Such a funny video (my husband and I both got a huge kick out of it), but the very real truth behind the "burden" of Adventist tradition is also quite sad despite the children saying, "Being an Adventist rocks!"

I do not understand, is this a real t.v. commercial aimed at Adventist or a comic parody, a spoof, surely this is not a real commercial but it sure looked real, I was tempted to call that number to see.

Hi Colleen--yup, I do!

Our second son, Caleb, was born this past Thursday (April 12th). We are all home now, recovering well, and enjoying our newest family member.

This afternoon as I was holding Caleb, I was thinking how extremely blessed I am. God is so good!

(I guess I should have posted this in the "answers to prayer/praise section"!) Oh well, I'll post in this section as a "praise" that my sons will never get the real humor behind Adventist Trading Cards :-).

Grace,
God is so good. You have a child and he will not be raised SDA. He will learn the real Bible truth. I am so glad for you.
Congratulations to you and your husband.

As for that ad, was it a spoof or a real ad? I laughed. If I did not laugh, I would cry.
God is to awesome to be contained in a box by adventism.

River, it was a spoof—but an "insider's" spoof. Adventists always make fun of their "peculiarities"—but they don't like it if anyone "outside" makes fun of them!!

It really is a praise that your son will grow up without fear!

You're right--it helps to have a good sense of humor! Praise the Lord for the peace that comes from trusting Jesus!

Grace,

Congratulations on your new addition.

May God continue to bless you with health and happiness as you again experience the joys of sleep deprivation, a screaming bundle of joy, and the challenges of trying to keep 3 males satisfied and happy all at once.

(Sound familiar Colleen?)

God bless,

Randy

Grace, congratulations! Praise God for new babies.

I'm missing my "babies" as they've grown up and are in grade school already. Waaah!

That video was hilarious. I think that mom was wearing earrings though -

Speaking of babies, my two oldest babies both graduate from university this june, and my youngest graduates from high school.

Grace, enjoy them while you still have some influence and authority. Then get ready to just go with the flow, and watch what God has in store. Every stage is a revelation, not only about them, but also about yourself. Hang on for the ride.

Yeah, Randy—keeping three open-ended, creative, bright males happy, fed, and remembering their appointments has been quite the career for me!!

And yes, the "lads" are 20 and 24 now...but they're fun to be around. They actually have grown-up senses of humor and intelligent insights...amazing!

Thanks, everyone! It's been great; I've really been enjoying my time getting to "know" him. It's been so wonderful.

Randy, you're so right! I've already learned so much about myself through being a mom--and they're still little, which means they still have a lot to teach me!

Congratulations, Nicole! Fourth? Wow...
