I am doing a research paper and would like to find one book that thoroughly outlines the history and development of the SDA church.

So far, the best I have been able to come up with is a patchwork quilt of references cobbled together with bits and pieces from multiple works. I would like to be able to refer to a single work if possible.

Any help is most appreciated!

Thanks for the warm welcome. With regards to my story:- What a whirlwind my life has been over the past few years. I couldn't believe I wouldn't be cursed if I didn't "return a faithful tithe" or that the Lord's Day was Sunday or that I could enjoy a "cold one". I still attend an SDA church every Sabbath. I know everything I hear is false, but I'm not sure my family could survive me leaving. My faith in religion has totally been shaken and I wonder at times what's the point; but I try to remember that by bearing each others burdens we fulfill the law of Christ. Such a nice guy isn't he. If only we focused on him more.

All my SDA friends think I am crazy when I share what I have learnt. It's a crazy situation but I find peace in Jesus.

Jesus' peace is totally dependable—and He will continue to lead you to Himself in deeper ways, Black-sheep. He'll help you know when to let your family know—and that day will come!

We waited two years after deciding we were going to leave the church before telling Richard's folks. We were having home church on Sunday; we at first still went to LLU Church to teach our SS class, but after a few months of that, we knew God ended that assignment, and we never went back.

Since Richard's parents actually live in our town, we finally knew we had to let them know or we'd eventually trip over ourselves trying to arrange things so they didn't find out we weren't going to church and that we were meeting on Sunday. We realized we couldn't live with integrity if we pretended to them any longer.

I won't lie—it was not a good time when we told them, and the subject has not become easier to manage with them. But there is honesty—and we continue to see them and interact with them.

God will convict you when the time is right. He is faithful.

Black_sheep, Welcome to FAF. When it is God's time to talk to your family, He will let you know. In the meantime, read your Bible and pray. God will not let go of you.
He is always awesome.
