Aloha everyone!

I will be taking a trip to Oregon today. My grandpa is passing away and he wants to see us before he goes. I hope that we have enough time to see him. If not, then I know that I will see him in glory. I need your guys prayers about this trip. My parents are SDA and so there isnt really much comfort/hope in death as it is for other Christians (you guys know what I mean). My grandpa has lead a rough life. He lived it to the fullest. He gave his life to Christ a few years ago and surprised the whole town when he was baptized. I am so thankful that he did it when he did. Praise God!!

Guys please pray for safe journey to and from Oregon. I know it should be interesting as my sister was grabbing some books and the one she grabbed was the DB book "The Richest Caveman". Yeah, I know... My mom had been wanting to catch up on the Northwoods sermons so that is a good thing. I hope and pray that God will use this trip to inspire them and hopefully change some thinking about stuff. I hope and pray that will be the case. I know that it will be tough, but God will use his Spirit to guide and heal. Thanks for the prayers, I will keep in touch. Thank goodness for laptops!!

Isaiah
PS: River, if I see your house while I am in Oregon, I will stop and try some of them possum and grits. Whatever that is...

Isaiah

I will be praying for you, your grandpa, and all your family. I have confidence that our struggles and frustrations in this life are not meaningless, and that in all things God works for our good.

This isn't advice, but I want to let you know that when I'm around Adventists (A LOT)I just go ahead and voice the gospel, even though I think few of them believe it. I often meet with subtle disapproval and disagreement when I say things like, "we will be with the Lord forever" and "praise God we can have total rest and confidence in Jesus as Saviour--we can know without doubt that we are saved." I hope it makes some of them hungry for the gospel.

May God be with you, Isaiah! May He give you His words as you speak to your family. May His name be glorified and His Spirit be with you in this important visit.

Hey guys,

Thank you for all the support. My grandpa is with Jesus now and it was a comforting thought to know that he is in a better place. My parents took it well and seem to be doing fine. We had been driving for about 2hours when we got the call that he had passed. We kept on driving and have arrived safe in Oregon. Funeral is friday and should be interesting. Guys I need the prayers for my family as my mom's dad and wife are the really "out there" Adventists. I have to go, but thank you for the prayers...

Hey guys,

I went to the funeral and it was unlike any type I have ever been to. The few funerals I have been to have been either Catholic or SDA. This one was different in that it was about how my grandpa changed his life by accepting Jesus Christ as his lord. The preacher officiating was a great speaker. He hit everything that you could to show people that my grandpa was in a better place. It was just a great service.

Guys, I have never seen a group of people like what I saw at the funeral. They came into the church mourning the loss and left it with a sense of hope and understanding about a life with Christ. The preacher didnt go for a "let's win souls for the Kingdom" sermon or anything like that. All he did was challenge everyone to look to the claims of Christ and how choosing Him would be a life changing experience. The people walked away comforted by it all.

I just want to say that my family was gratefull for the support and prayers.
