A big thank you to LAM and FAF leaders, for obedience to God in your Isaiah 61 ministry to all of us--Those set free by the Grace of Jesus and his shed blood, and those still in bondage.

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners
Isaiah 61:1

I dont know if all of you realize that this forum, and more importantly Proclamation!, is a ministry run by donation. (Most of it donated time and energy from our lovely FAF and LAM leaders.) I hope you will consider a gift to help fund this ministry. I know that the subscription rate has grown exponentially, praise God, but with the increased mailing list comes greatly increased expenses.
Right now LAM needs money to mail the next issue to all those on the list.

The first time I sent a donation to LAM, via the envelope in Proclamation! magazine, was momentous. I spent days praying, considering, wondering if I was sending money to the enemy of God. My head and heart said I should donate, after all, I had been utilizing the forum for months, and reading the magazine, and had never given in return. I hadn't left "THE CHURCH" officially, but had in spirit. So I hestiated, with this strange fear, of taking this big step, to send money to the former "enemy" camp.

I wasn't willing to send tithe to the SDA conference, however, and I wasn't sure what to do with the money that used to go to all those endless adventist ministries. So I prayed, gulped, prayed, made out a list, and ended up writing a check to this ministry, and one former adventist missionary.

When I actually wrote the check, I had great peace. I had great excitement walking to the mailbox. It was a true sense of freedom. I felt God's favor. I was making a statement with that check! "where your treasure is, there will your heart be also". My treasure wasnt a great amount, but it was a step. My heart is Isaiah 61---to help set the captives free. I want others to enjoy the amazing, awesome, freedom of resting in Jesus alone for salvation. So I give.

The gospel is glorious! Who better to enjoy the freedom in Jesus, than those of us who have been bound in a false gospel of self-sanctification.

I hope you will donate, today. Its an amazing thing.

(See, as a former, I know how to ask for money! :-).) But of course, Im asking for more than money, Im encouraging you to commit to the true gospel, if God speaks to your heart re this.

Lori

Yo Lori,

Funny, I've had an envelope for Proclamation to send $25 per month - it's been on my desk for two or three weeks. I am sending the first check today and set up automatic payments thereafter. Thanks for the nudge!

By the way, I am requesting a subscription to my parents, who will no doubt react in a typical SDA way, but I am writing them a letter beforehand that, agree or disagree, the rag will give them insight about me and Diana's journey out of Adventism. They will have a choice - read to understand our position better, or toss it in the trash, choosing to reject our position and judge us hook line and sinker through the lense of ABN, SDA, Amazing Facts, Cliff Goldstein, Sabbath School Quarterlies, etc. I pray they will choose the first response.

Lori,

Thank you so much for taking the lead in this matter, I have been, shall we say, under the burden to say something openly about this very matter for some time, I have had a niggling deep down somewhere unidentifiable to say something openly about it but I didn’t because I questioned the properness of my saying something but it was probably the Holy Spirit prompting me and I read your post with such great relief.

But since you have bit the bullet I am generous enough to have you take the hit also you go girl!

It’s not like I am sending a fortune but it’s all I have been able and I have been aware of the need by the Holy Spirits unrest about it.

So I will just join hands with Lori and amen and hallelujah her along a little bit.
I pray that this will open the flood gates of financial support where needed.

Father, I pray for the financial blessings of these men and women who lay there lives on the line to help others find peace just as they have found peace and contentment in your presence and father I pray that you will pour out a blessing that they will not be able to hold, open the flood gates of heaven now father and touch their lives in a way heretofore not known with wisdom and abundance of mercy to reach those you would have them reach.

Father I thank you that you have made us partakers together in your great harvest and enable us to partake together in your love.

I commit this prayer now father into you hands capable hand and in the name of Jesus, you said ask that your joy be full and our joy will be full.
Amen

P.S. Lord and touch Steve’s parents and bless Steve and his family in all possible ways and pour out your Spirit on them and strengthen them as they try to reach their Moms and Pops.

Ha! River
You said.."I have been, shall we say, under the burden to say something openly about this very matter for some time, I have had a niggling deep down somewhere unidentifiable to say something openly about it but I didn’t because I questioned the properness of my saying something but it was probably the Holy Spirit prompting me..."

OH! I could have written those words. Exactly!

Even down to "taking the hit". I get that, and I had to confess and repent about my hesitancy to do so. I lean toward Jonah type responses.

SO, just so you know, next time I get a nudge regarding posting something, and decide I would rather get on a big boat and go in the opposite direction, I'm gonna ask God to please go ask River..:-).
P.S. another quote that I agreed with, "Father I thank you that you have made us partakers together in your great harvest and enable us to partake together in your love."

So God give us the grace to speak when You say speak, and keep quiet when You say keep quiet, and act when You say act, and give us discernment to know the differnce. Grace upon Grace to you River.

Steve, I pray your parents love for you wins out over their fear.

Lori
