The other morning as I finished reading a bit and closed my Bible and it sat on my desk I looked at the closed Bible just sitting there, I had read a portion of scripture of the Old Testament.

I tried to visualize the whole Bible as I saw it from revelation back to Genesis and I remembered some portions of highway on interstate Ten where the road was long and straight and as you glanced into your rear view mirror the road melted into the distance front and back and I thought about time lines and things and I tried to visualize all the people that had traveled this road of life.
I remembered my parents, they had gotten on it at sometime and both had gotten off this road of life and I remembered some that had seemed to live their entire lives in the wilderness.
So here it is, my visualization of the Bible road, how theologically correct it is I do not know. I wanted to share it with you today.

The keeper of the road
If one could imagine himself as a Christian standing by the side of a long straight road called the Bible road and try to place ourselves as Christians at the right location on this road we would probably locate ourselves at the Lords message to the churches in Revelations.

So here we stand before these messages to the churches and look back down that long road clear back to the garden of Eden, you have to shade your eyes and squint to just make it out.
Our eyes follow that road as it gets closer and closer to the cross, then the cross, then the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, Romans to Jude and here we stand at the very brink of the day when Judgments will be poured out, the warnings and admonitions have gone out and the final atonement has been made and there will be no other.

All the Christians that are alive at this time stand here and listen as the final message goes out to the churches.
All born again Christians who live at this time must stand here because this is our day and place and time on this road.
We cannot stand in Paul’s place, that was his time to live and to die, we must take our place on this road for if we do not we can have no part in it.

Only Gods people can travel this road for it is the road of life, all unbelievers who die in their sins will not be able to enter this road because they failed to find the entry point although it shines ever so brightly.

Now as I stand on this road looking back I see the law keeper and the Sabbath keeper way back there before the cross. Can you see them?

But wait who is that standing way back there, is that an Adventist? What is he doing on that part of the road, he doesn’t belong there, he is out of place and out of time, he entered the road way too early and there he is, struggling under the load of the Mosaic rule, look he cannot stand, he stumbles and falls only too get up again and fall again, he should have entered the road at the cross and God would have taken his load upon his own shoulders and bore it, why did he enter that road out of place and time?
Now he struggles toward the cross but he is out of place and out of time and out of Joint, he cannot travel that part of the road because he is unauthorized by the keeper of the road.

The keeper of the road requires entry at the cross, he must get back off and enter at the required entry point, he must hurry on to enter at the cross to catch up to the born again Christians who have crowded up to hear the final message, every Christian must be present to hear the final message and instructions from the keeper of the road.

The Adventist and others standing way back there before the cross are to far away to hear the final message and instructions from the keeper of the road.

He listens but cannot hear the messages of Paul and the Apostles and that of the keeper of the road, only those who enter at the cross can hear for he is modern man and he is not authorized to enter way back there.

The Adventist stands there, he cannot go forward nor can he go back.
That part of the road behind the cross has been abandoned and is dangerous; one must enter at the cross where the way has been made straight and safe by the keeper of the road.

The keeper of the road will not allow anyone at unauthorized check points for he is the keeper of the road.
Why do so many people try to enter this road at unauthorized check points, can they not see that sign standing there, it is brightly lit, it stands there and shines so brightly it hurts your eyes and a being clothed in white raiment stands there directing all who would hear “This is the way, walk ye in it”.

River,

That is great!! It scares me to think that I was at one time standing on the road before the cross and I praise Jesus for pulling me off that road and onto the right road that starts at the cross. He is so awesome and it is not a hard old road to get off of if we put our trust in Him.

My goodness, River, that is an amazing picture, and it tells the truth. Amazing--I praise God for his gifts of insight that He gives you.

Yes, God is faithful, Gail. He intersects us as we wander on the wrong road as if we don't live in our own time. Awesome insight, River.

River, as I read your post I saw myself 4 years ago, not sure where I should be. Then I looked at myself now and see I am right where God wants me on that road.
As Colleen said "awesome insight River".
We do have an awesome God.
