The thing that occurs to me is that I have experineced more concentrated fellowship and focus here on this forum that I ever had in the past anywhere.
This forum functions as a church whether it intends to or not.
What a blessing !
I believe in human face to face contact too.
But I believe the experineces I gain from this forum have and will help me in the real world too.

It is like an oasis in the desert of transition from Adventist to Christian, isn't it! Praise God for his wonderful love!

Jim,

(((HUG))) I have learned so much here! Not only about my SDA family, but I've learned a lot about the Bible as well. The frosting on the cake - all my wonderful friends here. Praise God!

I never thought I would find a place like this online as soon as I seperated myself from adventism. It truly is a blessing to know that we are not alone in this.

I also have to add that this forum, with its fellowship and support has been a real blessing to me as well.
I thank God for Colleen and Richard, and for all the others involved in making this 'ministry' possible.

I left adventism all by myself, humanly speaking.
It was going through the links from D. Anderson's website that I found this one. When I did, I found I was not the only one who had left adventism. I was no longer alone.
Like all of you I thank God for this site and all who write on here. You have been a BIG blessing to me.
With lots of love for all of you and our awesome God,
Diana

Praise God for bringing us together! I also find so much support and insight and friendship here. It's amazing (well, I guess it really isn't...!) that the Holy Spirit is here, healing and uniting us in Christ even on the internet!

I praise Him for bringing us together and making us family!

I agree, too. Though I have been a lurker for 5+ years, I have found many threads that minister to me, like Gilead's balm.

Though at rare times there unfortunate posts, it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. Personally, it has melted away my anger at SDA centenarian deception.

Thank you Colleen et al.!

This forum has ministered to me in a unique and profound way, I really don't yet realize what it (the people) has really done in my life. I probably never will realize the fullness of what has taken place here.

As the longest participant here (meaning in years of consecutive posting with the exception of Colleen and Richard), I also wholeheartedly applaud this forum as an oasis of spiritual enrichment. It is so exciting, through the years, to see the spiritual growth of so many as our sovereign God unshackles their legalism. By the way, wouldn't it be utterly boring and uninteresting if we all had the identical perspective on every biblical topic? Christians truly need each other. Most of the things we learn in life, we learn from others.

Indeed, "in abundance of counselors there is victory" (Proverbs 11:14 NASB). "In an abundance of counselors there is safety" (ESV). "with many counselors there is deliverance" (HCSB). "safety lies in many advisers" (NJB). "many advisers make victory sure" (NIV). "security lies in many counselors" (NAB). May God continue to abundantly bless those who visit here.

Better late than never!..) I was initially aprehensive about joining this forum. So many Progressive Adventist internet groups turn into flame wars, battles of ego, and loving ones opinion more than God. Not so here..) Praise God!

For me the hurt of Adventism is just too raw. I don't have the stomach to argue even if it is just online. Each one of you is a brother and sister.

Praise God for each and every one of you here!

Ive heard we have a three families:

1. A family of chance, the one we are born into

2. A family of choice, those we choose to gather together with as family, and spend our lives with

3. And of course, the family of God, those who are born from above....

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:12-14--my true family.

Even though I have lost much connection with number 1, due to leaving the SDA church,

I never come home to an empty house anymore. Now I just get online, and have instant connection with you here on the forum, acting as numbers 2 and 3, even though we have not met in person!

Dennis, I never did like this rendering, much quoted by my hardcore, fanatical sda family:

"In an abundance of counselors there is safety" (ESV)

I can imagine Mormons and Jw's using that verse to justify their false doctrines as well.

Treasurehntr,
God bless you for coming on here. Leaving adventism does hurt and each of us has been there to one degree or another. You are allowed to heal here and we encourage you to find where God wants you. In the meantime, we will hold your hand as your journey out.
Welcome home brother.

Sara, I understand. I feel the same way about everyone here. Treasurehntr, I echo Diana. We will walk with you, and we are glad you're here.
