Well, I got another letter for Doug Batchelor wanting money for Here We Stand seminar.I have to write to you what the flyer reads."Amazing Facts presents Here We Stand: Foundations of Our Faith, an awesome opportunity for you and your church family to reclaim former or inactive members and introduce friends and family to the Distinctive gospel message of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church." "Host Pastor Doug Batchelor says, Many church members seem reluctant or embarrassed to share last-day truth, bit Here We Stand will give them the confidence and tools to stand for the Bible truth while also calling every member to live holy lives in God's remnant church." "Key Bible-based teachings such as the law and the Gospel, the Sabbath, the Sanctuary, spirit of Prophecy, reformation, and much more will be highlighted in this unique revival that will inform and energize you and your church family to stand for Truth in the these Last days! Oh boy, when I read this flyer I was upset. The SDA church,he refers to as the remnant in this message,is going to be reponsible for decieving many members! Way to go Doug and Amazing Facts! No I will not give you my money! We need to send out flyers,"Here We Stand: the Truth of the Seventh-Day Adventist deception and False Gospel!"

If they would only put so much time and money into spreading the Gospel...how many would be saved? But no...we have to spread SDA pecuiliar doctrines because we are losing people left and right and need new blood!

Cortney, do you know where this seminar is going to be given? If you do and if there are Formers in the area, I would be willing to donate or sell very inexpensively the little book, The Truth About Seventh-day Adventist "Truth". These could be given to the Evangelical pastors in the area.

I think we could use their own brochures. Just change one part of one phrase:

...introduce friends and family to the DISTINCTIVE GOSPEL message of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

....introduce friends and family to the DIFFERENT GOSPEL message of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

What does the Bible say about those that preach a different gospel?

I think the phrase even as stated, a "distinctive gospel", is very telling.

It would be interesting to have mainline Christian pastors ask Bachelor what makes the SDA gospel "distinctive".

There is only one Gospel of Jesus Christ. It doesnt need to edited by humans, in fact, God forbids it.

Lovingly, to those lurkers here, who are current Seventh-day Adventists... Would you be willing to ask God to reveal to you where there is any error in your understanding of the Gospel?

I remember when even asking that question was terrifying to me.

God is faithful. He is faithful to give truth to those who earnestly seek Him. I hope you will ask Him. In fact, I will pray that God give you the courage to ask that question.

In love,
Lori

Hi Dale,

First, let me thank you so much for your website and ministry! It has helped me tremendously even though I have been out of the SDA church since 1998. It's also helped my husband to understand more about SDA, as an evangelical who is grounded in the truth of the gospel.

As far as the "Here we Stand" seminar, it's being broadcast via 3abn and individual churches are holding video seminars in their churches. There will also be live streaming over 3abn.

I feel that we should collectively pray about this that people will not be deceived by the "other gospel" of Adventism and those inside will see the error of this system of theology.

For those who live near a participating church, you could always hand out those tracts. A listing of churches can be found on the Amazing Facts website.

Javagirl,

You're absolutely right. By their own admission, the SDA "gospel" is a false gospel: "the DISTINCTIVE GOSPEL message of the Seventh-day Adventist Church"!

Well, if it's "distinctive" (different) from the Gospel of Christianity, then it's condemned by God's Word:

"I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!" (Galatians 1:6-9 NIV.)

Jeremy

The scary part about the wording of the flyer IS...people don't see the words DISTINCTIVE GOSPEL as something to be wary of.

Take a look at the list of crucial Bible teachings on this website: http://www.07revive.com/ the only "crucial Bible teaching" that is capitalized is the Sabbath.

They do not see that the only "crucial Bible teaching" they have listed is the Gospel. And it's not even given it's own category it's collectively listed with "the law and the gospel".

But, again, unless you already know the deceptions of this denomination this announcement comes across relatively innoculous.

I just went to this SDA "revival" website and find a number of things objectionable or downright disgusting. First, the "flag raising" icon with the word "truth" emblazed on it.

1. The word "truth", by its self, means nothing. God is the only source of truth and his truth is only found in the Bible. The SDA church should be challenged to teach "truth" by only making reference to the Bible. Others should be warned that they add to God's word and is like adding a deadly poisen to otherwise healthy food.

2. Since I am an ex-Marine, the flag raising on Iwa Jima has special meaning and I get upset when it is used as a propaganda tool. The flag raising monument is intended to honor all those who gave their lives for our country, especially the Marines and Sailors who died in that battle. God, Country and Family, is what motivated them to sacrifice their lives so that we could live in freedom. To use this symbol to advance the cause of a false religion sickens and outrages me. As River would say; it makes me want to "go out and chew the handles off of my old Chevy"!

3. One "final" thought. I just bet that when they move out into the community at large, that they hide their identity. The unsuspecting need to be warned. As has been already mentioned, they need to know that a "distinctive gospel" is simple a retelling of the old false gospel and is no gospel at all.

Yes, Phil. I have a love and respect for all the military, aside from the fact that my son is now active duty Air Force. To use the flag that way makes me want to "chew off those old Chevy handles" also.

Besides the incredibly poor taste in using this heroic portrayal as somehow symbolic of the heroism of SDAs passing out tracts it typically portrays the WORK of individuals as something worthy of accolades. If SDAs acknowledged that it is ALL the work of God then the only banner required to represent the uplifting of God’s truth would be the cross.
