Hello, like request in other post, Iīm here to tell about me. Iīm looking for the right place(Discussion?) to write about this issue. If here is the wrong place, sorry.

Iīm from Brazil and accept Jesus Christ in 1999. Since then, I never worried about the law and to keep Sabbath. For me it was/is so clear the work of Jesus Christ that I never been worried in keep the law or to know why a person acts like that, until I start to dating a sda woman.

When we started to knowing each other she was very incisive about the sda doctrine, telling me that our relationship would be very hard. When we argued about different points, I told her: Iīll respect your doctrine.

At the same time I was researching about the sda doctrine, about Ellen White(she had told me Ellen was a prophet), about the heresy and God bothered me a lot!!! I couldnīt keep my statement and it was so hard to me. I made a mistake. A great one!!! I couldnīt respect such great heresies.

In one of our conversation, she was telling about the difficult to find a job and I began the long discussion: The sabbath. She refused many jobs because she couldnīt work on saturday. That time, I realized the big sacrifice: "Oh, my God, such a big mistake!! She think sheīll be saved keeping the law!!"
In that day, many doubts remained in her mind and I could realize so much angry when I always started to talk about the sda doctrine, especially about Ellen and she started to remember me: "You sad youīd respect my doctrine".
I said to her: I made a mistake, but Iīll do the wish of God. If what I say itīs true, itīll remain.

She was born in a sda family, her father is a minister(missionary) of sda church, her mother and brothers are sdaīs. We are together since 5 months, and until now, I saw her father twice. She is afraid because she knows Iīll argue whith him when I had a chance.

Many times my girlfriend threatened to live me, but I didnīt change my position. I love her, but I canīt be a blind when God shows me many errors.

Most of the literature that unmasks Ellen and the sda doctrine is in English. Some years ago I studied English, and now I lost the fluency and practice to write and I forgot many words, as you realize - lol :-). But I have understood many things here and in others sites. Sometimes itīs difficult because a big part of the writings of Ellen is in English, so, I have to translate somethings and show what I argued. Here(Brazil), I realized that many sda donīt know about all what she wrote.

I have written my arguments and showed to my girlfriend(and to others sdaīs). We, my girlfriend and me, entered in an agreement: Sheīll check and talk to me after that.

A big problem I see: She told me that Ellen can be a false prophet, but about the Sabbath, sheīll not change her beliefs. She told me that when she was younger, she was in doubt about Sabbath and she had a vision while she was sleeping and she saw the 4th commandment! When I heard it, I remembered this:

Jesus opened them, and I saw the Ten commandments written on them with the finger of God. On one table were Four and on the other six. The four on the first table shone brighter than the other six. But the fourth, the Sabbath commandment, shone above them all; for the Sabbath was set apart to be kept in honor of God's holy name. The holy Sabbath looked glorious a halo of glory was all around it. I saw that the Sabbath commandment was not nailed to the cross.(Early Writings of Ellen G. White, page 33, Official Adventist publication)

Immediatelly I told: All your visions have to be in the Word of God, but she insist to believe that Christians have to keep the sabbath and told me: Ask for God, and Heīll show the truth.
About doctrine, some sda thrust in their visions. Many of them say to have a angel, like Ellen, but they forget:

Galatians 1.8: But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

It seems that they prefer a angel aside than the Holy Spirit!!!
I had heard many sda testimonies with their accompanying angels. I have no doubt the spirit of false prophecy acts through the writings of Ellen.

The angels work to us, but itīs very weird when each one see, hear the angels, and some of them introduce doctrines. The Holy Spirit will reminder us what was told, nothing new.

John 14.26: But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

So, I think you can see the trouble.

I have prayed for you and I need prayer so much.

Sometimes I think to give up, but lately, I realized that if any person told to her about the heresies, she wouldnīt hear. When I speak, she hears.

This forum had help me in many issues.
I donīt have much time, but Iīll post some discussion I have had with some sda in Brazil and some interesting points.

God bless all of you.

Welcome Lordsanointed! I'm so glad to see you here. You will find much comfort and strength here and you are among friends.

Your English is very good! I had no problem understanding your post.

I'm sorry about your frustrations. I, like you have never been SDA, but I married a man who is and there has been a lot of struggle and tension over our years. I can see that you know your Bible well and I want to encourage you to keep God's words fresh in your mind and heart.

My prayers are with you and I especially pray that the Lord will reach your girlfriend in a special way.

In God's love,
:-) Leigh Anne

Lordsanointed,

Welcome to the forum! It's good to have you here.

That is very interesting about many of the SDAs in Brazil having their own "accompanying angels" that talk to them, like Ellen did. I had not heard of that before--that sounds very creepy/spooky. It confirms even more that Ellen herself really did have a spirit (evil angel) guide. And now her followers are in spiritual bondage.

Praying for you and for your girlfriend,
Jeremy

Iīm sorry, double post. I couldnīt edit.
Jeremy,
I was scared when I read many testimonies with angels. Many of them have similar experience like Ellen and they think it is normal.

I see Ellen like a wolf in sheepīs clothing. Her writings sounds naive, but contain only heresies.

Welcome to the forum. I'm so glad you decided to share these things. And I agree! Your english is very good. I had no problem understanding what you were saying.

I will be praying for you and your girlfriend as you witness the truth of the Gospel to her.

You are so right in your assessments. And I did not know about SDAs in Brazil having accompanying angels. I agree with Jeremy that it is evidence of a false Gospel.

It also reminds me of a story from when I was in college. A family from our church was on a mission trip. It might have been to Brazil, though I can't remember that for sure. In any case, the wife had an 'accompanying angel' while she was there. She even described 'him' as having dark, curly hair and being tall. At the time, I couldn't quite figure out why that didn't sit well with me. I didn't know the Gospel or have any Bible knowledge at the time.

In Christ,
Patria

Lordsanointed,
Thank you for sharing your experience with your SDA girlfriend. Please, be VERY careful with her. She may be hearing you because all adventists want to convert the person they are listening to. I did that to my ex-husband. There is a Brazilian ex SDA on CARM who posts on the SDA forum there.
Your English is very good. Keep writing here and it will improve.
Our God is so awesome in how He works in the lives of each of us.

Hi Lordsannoited,

Thanks for sharing your story. Your english is not hard to understand. That is very disturbing about the accompanying angels.

I would caution you as Diana did to be very careful with your girlfriend. Also, it will be very difficult for you as a Christian if you married her or any other devout SDA as their beliefs will cause conflict in your home. Please consider Paul's advice about being unequally yoked.

Having said that, please know we are here to support you in whatever you decide. I will pray for you in this situation.

Lordsanointed, I am so glad you have joined this forum. You're very welcome here and I hope to see many more posts from you. I can "hear" your delightful accent as I read the words you write.

Concerning the 4th commandment and that vision of Ellen White's...I was thinking about that vision recently. In a way, there is correct doctrine in that vision, insofar as the Sabbath is highlighted in the midst of the ten-commandment law.

The problem is that Ellen White made the wrong conclusion from that vision. The proper conclusion would have been for her to teach that Christ fulfilled the whole law, and HE IS our sabbath rest. But, since she came to the wrong conclusion, that vision has been used to perpetrate error for many years.

If Ellen White had properly matched her vision with the passages in the New Testament that show Christ as our Sabbath rest, she would have led many to Christ, instead of away from Him.

Itīs good to read what you write. Iīm an alert with my girlfriend. Despite I know sheīs a good person, I have waited she check what I told her about Ellen and sda doctrine. I have given time to her, Iīm not hurrying her. She even marked the time to give me an answer. So, Iīm waiting.
Depending on her attitudes, Iīll take decisions based on the Word of God(as Susan said - unequally yoked).

In these years, I learned that only the Holy Spirit can convince the hearts. Independent of what happens, I know that the seed was planted in her heart. Regarding the fruits, sooner(I hope) or later, theyīll appear.

Lordsanointed--I also had never heard about the Brazilian Adventists having accompanying angels. That is alarming. I agree that it helps confirm the dark source of Ellen's visions. These kinds of things are not Biblical, and as you quoted from Galatians, the Bible warns against them. They are occultic.

I want to add my serious caution to you about your relationship with your girlfriend. Adventists always want to convert the non-SDA with whom they study. Your girlfriend is certain that if you study with her, you'll become Adventist. They believe that a serious Bible studen will become Adventist.

Even if she agrees to let you remain "Christian" without becoming "Adventist", I assure you that her own Adventist heritage will come forward if you marry her and have children. She will believe she may be lost if she does not raise her children as Adventists. Ellen White said God would punish the parents whose children did not have "the truth".

Adventism is far deeper, darker, and more divisive than you may yet realize. If you don't understand the doctrines, at least believe what you see: many of the Adventists you know have "angel" guides. These guides are not angels of God. Adventism holds its people in deep bondage, and the bonds are very hard to break.

With prayers for you,
Colleen

I found it interesting that, according to the link that Gilbert posted in another thread, Brazil has more Adventists than any other country does (over 1.3 million).

One guy (not Adventist)said he went to one of those countries as missionary, he was preaching the word of God and just everybody was accepting Jesus, he really thought he had it made till found out they were just lining Jesus up in their house along with the rest of the other Gods (statues and stuff). Maybe thats how it is in Brazil.

Lordsanointed,

Welcome to FAF! I'm too a "Brasileirinho" from Palmas, TO. For the benefit of the other posters on this forum, let's keep our exchange in English.

I am a former SDA Reform Movement (SDARM), born and raised to strictly follow EGW teachings. I know very well (and also have experienced it) the issues you are facing right now. If you are willing to talk about it with me, please add me on MSN: mcwendell@hotmail.com. Talking in Portuguese will be easier.
