Aloha Guys,

It has been a busy summer. I am back and I am ready to go and converse with everyone.

Tonight my dad asked me to check this website to find out when this meeting deal he and my mom were going to. I pulled up the website and noticed something right off the bat. Here is the quote:

"What topics will Pastor Doug cover?
The revival will emphasize the importance of standing firmly on the Bible-based doctrines of God’s remnant church. Key teachings such as the law and the gospel, the Sabbath, state of the dead, the sanctuary, health, the spirit of prophecy, and more will be highlighted."

I stopped and looked at my dad and said, "Uh..why is the LAW listed before the Gospel?" He just shrugged and didnt really care. I knew it was time to say something. I told him the times that the meeting was going to start and then did some quick research.

I didnt want to get into a debate about any big subjects as I had to leave for a company function, so I just did the soft subjects. I pointed out a few things that are just wrong in the meeting topics. Started with the one about the Sabbath.

I like to use the NET Bible translation. (bible.org for more info) I love how it does Eph 2:14-18...

"2:14 For he is our peace, the one who made both groups into one and who destroyed the middle wall of partition, the hostility, 2:15 when he nullified in his flesh the law of commandments in decrees. He did this to create in himself one new man30 out of two, thus making peace, 2:16 and to reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which the hostility has been killed. 2:17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near, 2:18 so that through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father."

I then played for him the audio from Dale's Saturday night deal at the FAF weekend 2007 edition, the part about Ellen saying the dividing wall comment. He was a little concerned. I said EGW's quote doesnt match up with what the Bible was saying.

I then went on and asked him who lives on Jupiter. He said no one lives there. I mentioned that EGW said that Enoch did. My dad then said that just because she is part of the church doesnt mean that he reads her books. I told him that was a good thing and not to start reading them.

Then I went for the "Amalgamation" quote. I told him that she said something that horrible. He was in shock. I told him that anyone who would say something like that was just plain wrong. He agreed.

I told him the quote about Jesus just being an angel in heaven before being picked up by God the Father to be the one to save the world. My dad was a little taken back. I dont know if anything I said made a difference but I hope and pray that it did.

I am going to Willow Creek for church this weekend with my parents. It's a four hour drive roundtrip, so there is a lot of time for discussion. This is were you guys come in. I need the quotes from EGW about the Jesus deal and the one that Dale says in his audio presentation. If you guys have some other type of conversation topics to also be discussed please send them along. I really am looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks.

Hi!
I'm in Michigan and Here We Stand is about an hour away from me. "Excitement is in the air as many are expected to be reclaimed for Christ." This is the quote on all the flyers being sent out in church bulletins.

Several from my former church desperately want me to go. This is a huge deal and churches all over Michigan are trying to regain formers and inactives. "Uncle Dougie" is a favorite around here.

I desperately wish I had something to hand out! Would you join me in prayer that none would be led deeper into deception and that the truth of the Bible would be clearly displayed.

Michigan is evangelizing heavily now and using the model of the Indian Ocean (or something like that) division that grew from about 20 to 20,000 members in a short amount of time. Paul Ratsara, the conference president has visited with the elders from every church twice and met with Michigan pastors several times.

My former church has over 70 "Bible studies" and is expecting a great harvest for God when their series startts in two weeks. Michigan is a stronghold of the enemy.

The plan works like this:

Every member is to write down 10 names and begin praying for them. They then work on an inroad to start "Bible studies."

Cards were sent out and people went to visit every one handing out one study each week - Adventist style and making friends the whole time. People were told not to worry if the study was being done or not. The goal is to make friends and earn trust so that in a few weeks you can invite them to the series.

They got hundreds of cards returned at my former church.

The people are told to lie and say the studies are for people of every denonmination. This is a bold face lie!

They are clearly from the seventh-day adventist church teaching seventh day adventist doctrine and they are not endorsed by any but the SDA church!

They are also told to lie and say they are respresentatives of Amazing Facts.

They are no more representaives of Amazing Facts than you are of Tyndale House Publishers or the Lockman foundation is you give a person a BIble! As you can see, I'm so angry about this as I was deceived in this way.

Anyway, please join me in prayer - that God would indeed move in a mighty way during this time - and that truth would prevail.

I'm also asking the Lord what He would have me do - if anything besides pray during the meetings at my former church. My former church is probably a lot more gospel focused than most although the new pastor and addition of several die hard Bible workers seem to be reversing the trend.

Is anyone else considering doing anything
besides praying during evangelistic meetings?

Serving Jesus joyfully and in the freedom only Jesus provides! He is good. Praise Him!

I just wrote a letter to God for my Celebrate Recovery program. It is all about the deception perpetrated by the SDA church. I found I was still hurt and angry by all the things they knew and did nothing about it. And they are still doing this. Deceiving unsuspecting people and using lies to do this, as usual.
I will be reading this letter to my CR sponsor and praying that God takes all the anger and hurt.
I will pray with you also.
Father in Heaven, You are the Alpha and Omega and know all things. Please make it so the SDAs in Michigan are frustrated and confused. Please do not let any one be deceived. I know You are still in charge and you will not let anything happen if it is not your will. I want to see this thing stopped, but that is my will and wish.
It is all in your hands. You are so awesome.

Hi,

I'm about to leave for the weekend and will not be back online till Tuesday. I wanted to say I will be praying for you, Ilkegore, as well as your parents. I will be praying about this Here We Stand seminar too!
Joyful, you can order the booklet the truth about the truth (paraphrased title) that Dale has published.

Blessings to all,

Joyful,

I would suggest that you call as many Evangelical churches as you can and alert them to what is going on. When a church will not identify its name when it advertises the Evangelical church takes note. I am taking Dale's booklet to many Evangelical churches in my city and I am finding the response I am getting very positive. I will be praying and I know that many other FAF people will as well. Lots of evangelical churches have prayer chains and if you explain what is going on they will pray.

Joyful, wow that sounds awful :-(

I pray that many Christians will reach out to the SDA's and tell them about the real Gospel and the real Jesus Christ. Also that many more Christians will be made aware of how deceptive the SDA cult is. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

Martin

Isaiah,

Here is the quote about the "separating wall":

quote:

"And I saw that if God had changed the Sabbath from the seventh to the first day, He would have changed the writing of the Sabbath commandment, written on the tables of stone, which are now in the ark in the most holy place of the temple in heaven; and it would read thus: The first day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. But I saw that it read the same as when written on the tables of stone by the finger of God, and delivered to Moses on Sinai. 'But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.' I saw that the holy Sabbath is, and will be, the separating wall between the true Israel of God and unbelievers; and that the Sabbath is the great question to unite the hearts of God's dear, waiting saints." (Early Writings of Ellen G. White, page 33, paragraph 1.)

I'm not sure which quote you are referring to about Jesus being an angel, but there are lots of quotes that say that. The EGW quote posted at this link by Gilbert may be helpful. And here are a few other quotes that exalt satan and denigrate Jesus Christ:

quote:

"Satan had been Lucifer, the light-bearer, the sharer of God's glory in heaven, and second to Jesus in power and majesty." (Bible Echo and Signs of the Times, 11-01-1892, "Tempted in All Points Like as We are," paragraph 3.)

"Evil originated with Lucifer, who rebelled against the government of God. Before his fall he was a covering cherub, distinguished by his excellence. God made him good and beautiful, as near as possible like himself." (Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, 09-24-1901, "Without Excuse," paragraph 4.)

"Before his fall, Satan was, next to Christ, the highest angel in heaven. [...] Then it was that Satan appeared to him. He came as a beautiful angel from heaven, claiming that he had a commission from God to declare the Saviour's fast at an end." (Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, 01-14-1909, "Called to Glory and Virtue," paragraph 4.)

"Satan was once an honored angel in heaven, next to Christ. His countenance, like those of the other angels, was mild and expressive of happiness. His forehead was high and broad, showing great intelligence. His form was perfect; his bearing noble and majestic. But when God said to His Son, 'Let us make man in our image,' Satan was jealous of Jesus. He wished to be consulted concerning the formation of man, and because he was not, he was filled with envy, jealousy, and hatred. He desired to receive the highest honors in heaven next to God." (Early Writings of Ellen G. White, page 145, paragraph 1.)

"We are all to understand that there is a fallen angel who was once next to Christ in honor among the heavenly host. His work of deception was done in so great secrecy that the angels in less exalted positions supposed that he was the Ruler of heaven. Satan made the representation that all wrong insinuations existing in heaven originated among the angels, while he himself had made suggestions which would never have been entertained by the angels, had he not created them. He artfully presented these things to God, as having come from the angels, while they all originated with Satan himself. . . ." (This Day with God, page 256, paragraph 1 [Sept. 4, 1906].)

EGW even says that Jesus is an angel NOW, AFTER he came to earth (and the "Clear Word" also changes this passage, Revelation 10, to say the same thing as Ellen):

quote:

"The mighty angel who instructed John was no less a personage than Jesus Christ. Setting His right foot on the sea, and His left upon the dry land, shows the part which He is acting in the closing scenes of the great controversy with Satan." (S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 7, page 971, paragraph 3.)

And here's a quote that should be a good conversation-starter, where EGW says that she has to save her own soul!:

quote:

"We owe everything to Jesus, and renewedly I consecrate myself to his service, to work for him in a strange land, to lift him up before the people, to proclaim his matchless love. My prayer ascends day and night for the presence of Jesus to go before us. While lying in my state-room, the language of my heart has been, 'My Redeemer, I beseech thee to engage for me in every conflict. I know in whom I have believed, and thy grace alone is my trust.' It is my prayer that I may the coming year be a co-worker with Jesus in saving my own soul, which he has bought with his precious blood, and that every day I may learn his meekness and lowliness, that he can use the frail, unworthy agent to bring souls out of darkness into light." (Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, 02-16-1892, "On the Way to Australia: At Samoa and Auckland," paragraph 10.)

Isaiah,
I will also pray that you have a blessed time this weekend worshiping with your parents. I see from Willow Creek's website that Michael Franzese will be speaking on the power of grace for a new beginning. I pray that you all will have a glimpse of the power of grace this weekend.

Jeremy, Wow! Those are some amazing quotes. So Ellen White was going to assist in saving her own soul? Statements like that make me dizzy!

Joyfulheart,

I just had another thought. Could you write out your testimony and send it to the pastors of the churches that are responsible for the Here We Stand meetings. I have sent my faith story to a pastor here in my city as well as to Amazing Facts, Ellen White website, It is Written etc. I guess I go where angels fear to tread!! but I want to share the change that Christ has made in my life since I left Adventism and committed my life to Him. I also have urged the Adventist leadership to acknowledge the plagarism of Ellen and to get on their knees and confess their sin and preach the gospel only. I have been bold but I felt I needed to be. I can send you the a copy of the letters that I have written. My email address is on the "members only" section under Calling Canadians.

Praying for you
Blessed

Oh, what an awesome God we have.

I had seen those quotes before when I was more heavily into reading her stuff. At that time, I simply passed over that and dismissed the Christ/angel thing as insignificant, since she wasn't wrong about anything because the things she wrote had come from God's Throne as rays of light. (who can possibly argue with that reasoning?)
Are there any quotes floating around out there that explicitly say that Jesus was an angel and that God picked Him out of a group of angels and gave Him the "Christ" title? I don't know if there are that I can use to share with my adventist friends, but certainly the ones that Jeremy shared are interesting.

Does anyone have John Milton's book, "Paradise Lost"? I think a fair amount of material for patriarchs and prophets came from that book..

Jeremy

Thanks for post 2123, above. The last quote, four years after 1888, shows that neither she nor the people at the Review had any concept of the gospel. Or, perhaps, she just used exceptionally bad judgment in her choice of words . . . again and again and again.

Aloha guys!

Jeremy, you rock! Thank you for the quotes. I thought it would be you.

Guys we didnt get to talk much this weekend about EGW, but what a great time we had at Willow Creek. Michael Franzese's story is amazing. You want to see someone who can be at the top of the world and then fall down, this is the story. God works in some pretty cool ways.

I am going to go and do a seperate post on grace and Michael Franzese's story. It is a really cool story. Thanks for the posts with the EGW quotes. I will give some more updates on the "revival" that is being shown at the SDA church.

Isn't Michael Franzese the former Mafia member??
If he is the one, I heard him over a year ago at my church. He has a powerful testimony.
