The Seventh Day Adventist church reserves the right to interpret scripture and the will of God through Ellen G. White via the church headquarters. One of their primary tools to accomplish this is the "quarterly" lessons that everyone is expected to study and follow.

This is their unstated doctrine and the "umbrella" under which they hide all the other false doctrines.

I am offering the following verses to set out the theme of this topic:

All Christians, born again members of the body of Christ, are priests and have direct access to God, with all the rights and privileges that go with that status.

quote:

Rev. 1:5,6
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

All members of the body of Christ have the Holy Spirit within us who will individually guide us into all truth.

quote:

John 16:13-15
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The Bereans understood this and searched the scriptures to see if what Paul was teaching was true by looking up his references. Clearly, Paul approved their searching of the scriptures with this in mind.

quote:

Acts 17:10-12
And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

So, if it was ok to "check out" what Paul was teaching, why is it not ok to check out Ellen G. White to see if scripture supports her or not?

My prayer for those in the SDA church that they become good Bereans.

Amen again. That is such a great challenge...and surprisingly NOT obvious at first!
