quote:

I was shown that many drive Christ from their families by an impatient, passionate spirit. Such have something to overcome in this respect. The human family was presented before me, enfeebled. Every generation has been growing weaker, and disease of every form visits the human race. Thousands of poor mortals are dragging out a miserable existence. Some with deformed, sickly bodies, shattered nerves, and gloomy minds. Satan's power upon the human family increases. If the Lord should not soon come and destroy his power, the earth would soon be depopulated.
Spiritual Gifts (1864), Volume 4b, page 94

Don't worry Gilbert I am answering these fast as I can!!

The first question I have is who presented the human family before her majesty?

My comment is, according to what she is saying, Satan is the only one with power in the earth.

Ok, Ok, I'll shut up! I knwo when I'm not appreciated, got a bucket a worms just outside. :-)

River, you are a "class act"! Like Randy said recently, she speaks for herself. We can't really add much to it.

Well, I just have to laugh. What astonishing ...well, the word "drivel" comes to mind...

Yes, River has it right--apparently Satan is the most powerful force on earth. Whatever happened to Jesus defeating the power and authorities at the cross?

(Still laughing over your java script calendar, Gilbert...)

I guess according to what she is saying Jesus is just down on his luck and all that cross stuff just didn't work for nobody, maybe it was just nobody she knew.

After all we got to give her the benefit looking at it from her end of the pole.

I'd still like to know who presented the whole feeble human family before her. Was it supposed to be another vision or something?

Actually now that I think on it, when I do go to town, which I readily admit is only when I have too, but I really don't see a street fulla people limping and barffing, their health must of improved since her day.

Maybe they were sick right after she said that do you think?
I mean after all, with all that gloom and doom people were probably sick fer miles around jest barffing their guts up.

With that kind of a hopeless outlook on life it's a wonder she didn't hang herself from one of the gaseous leaf shedding oak tree's.

Come to think of it that's probably why she was always in such a funk about everything, it was them sheddin tree's a piznin the air.

Maybe that's why she wuz havin all them vision's, them tree's wuz probly havin the same effect on her as droppin acid er swiggin on that kaintucky vinigar.

Well, i'm jest about thunk out on this situation.
All that thinkin jest got me plumb tuckered out, it's probably the animal part a my brain er them long dresses I been a wearin whut tuckers me out when I get to thinkin so hard.

River! You crack me up. :-) Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry. "Drivel" is the right word. It's too bad they didn't have such a thing as cataract surgery back then. Ellen sure "saw" a lot of things!

By the way Colleen, you can look up the current elapsed time since the Investigative Judgment started whenever you want to at http://beyondadventism.com/
