"Pray, yes, pray with unshaken faith and trust. The Angel of the covenant, even our Lord Jesus Christ, is the Mediator who secures the acceptance of the prayers of His believing ones. {AG 85.6"}

Is EGW calling Jesus an angel or I am reading it wrong?

There's that ugly Jesus = Michael (but he's not an angel!) argument again.

Yes, Kristen...that's the only way one can objectively read that statement. Of course, they'll try to dance around it..."Jesus isn't an angel, that's just a name we call Him..." etc.

Yet what she said is what she said. I'm continually amazed at the sorts of disingenuous interpretations Adventists give Ellen. They could never get away with that sort of analysis in a high school literature class...

"Jesus isn't an angel, that's just a name we call Him..." etc. . . .

With that way of arguing you can argue anything:

Jesus isn't an angel - that's just a title.

Jesus was never a human - he just seemed like one.

He isn't God - he just got the title given to him.

By that (il)logic

The devil wouldn't be the devil - that's just a name.

Good is not necessarily good, it's just called that.

Whatever we want to say is truth, because truth is what we call it, . . . and deceit isn't really deceit, and black can be anything we decide it is, and white is in the eye of the beholder and . . . .

When we take the first step of listening to God clearly and unmistakably teaching truth, and then turn around and say, "well he said this, but what he really meant is that," we are well on our way to losing touch with the bedrock of reality and drifting without an anchor.
