Did any of you read the book The two Covnenants by Andrew Murray? Is it a must read? Does it go deep on the topic or is it a lighter version? Is it suitable as a gift book for adventists? Any other books to recomend?

Hi Berit,

I bought the book and started to get through it, but I had to stop. While I love some of Murray's other books, I think he didn't fully understand the Covenants. He believed that the Spirit in us keeps "our end" of the covenant, as opposed to Jesus being our representative who fulfilled everything (as Hebrews 10 says).

Overall, I don't think it's exactly the kind of book I would give to someone who is beginning to understand the covenants. It would be interesting reading for someone who's already familiar with the covenants and what the Bible says of them -- someone who could discern the many valuable things Murray said (and there are many) and yet sift out the things that he was mistaken on.

Books I've read which I'd recommend about the New Covenant would be two -- Dale Ratzlaff's "Sabbath in Christ" and Malcolm McDowell's "The Lost Secret of the New Covenant".

Blessings in Jesus!
Ramone
