When, why and who came up with the expression "Pre-Advent Judgment" instead of the "Investigative Judgment"?

Is the "Pre-Advent judgment" just a normal Christian theological expression? Or was it invented by the SDA Church to cover up the more negative expression "The Investigative Judgment"?

Hope someone here knows the answer,
In Christ,
Martin

Did a quick Yahoo web-search and found Wikipedia to ascribe the 'pre-advent judgment' to SDAism. Browsing down the other links to sites that use the term the full first three pages are links either to SDA webpages (the majority) or to sites answering SDA doctrines (a few).

I'd be interested if anyone else teaches this doctrine too.

I don't see how anyone else could teach "pre-Advent judgment" - it is just another term for "investigative judgment", which is unique to SDA's. Pre-Advent would mean prior to the second coming, and no one but SDA's teach the judgment prior to the second coming. I'm not sure when that term began - maybe EGW also used it?

Martin

About 8-10 years ago I read that the IJ scholars on DARCOM refer to it now as a "pre-advent heavenly audit."

I felt immense relief knowing that.

Revelation is pretty clear that the judgement will happen after the 1000 year reign of Christ (and us) in the New Jerusalem.

Pre advent judgement? They would have to show me that in Scripture. When He comes, we will either meet Him in the air or we won't. Once we meet Him, in the air, and rule with Him for 1000 years, we will not have to worry about the judgement anyway. There is no way we will be asked to leave.

Now the wicked...that's another story but they will still be judged AFTER the 1000 years.
