Ask An Adventist - Close of Probation #1

Here is a question to ask your Adventist friends:
Can you share with us your Biblical evidence that the event Adventists call "the Close of Probation" will precede the second coming of Jesus Christ?

Well, isn't that why we have to 'get ready' by 'perfecting our own character' so that we can 'stand without an intercessor'?

I'll bet you bunch of heretics believe that Jesus is enough and that you are not under judgment, well, I guarantee that the lot of you have at least one forgotten sin unrepented of and are all doomed to hell.

Buahahaha!

How sad, but true of adventism. I pray that the Adventists reading this get to know Jesus as a personal Saviour. He is all we need.

From the pen of the Pacific Union Conference President, Tom Mostert:
Dear Pacific Union Member:

...

Where once it seemed important to have a modern day prophet to warn and instruct us as we prepare for the second coming of Jesus, it is now inconvenient to accept Ellen White’s pointed counsel about personal changes. My, the list is endless! So we look for reasons not to read her; some say she might have simply copied large portions of the material in her books; the church was so legalistic in the past, she probably just flowed with the times. Now our emphasis is on salvation through Jesus, full and complete. Total serious consideration of the prophetic messages from Ellen White = ZERO

What Do You Have Left? – These are but a few examples of a long list of thought patterns developing in members’ lives. You could add belief in absolutes, the unique mission of the Adventist Church, and faithfulness in tithing. In the end each area equals ZERO. A Church whose distinctive truths have been zeroed out is left with nothing different from the community church down the street. The unique Seventh-day Adventist message and mission is reduced to ZERO.
Reference: Exposing Adventism - Christ not good enough. Need more Ellen White!

Thomas Mostert's perspective makes me feel sick to my stomach. If only he could realize just how different his church is from the community church down the street!

He does recognize it, and applauds the difference. He is a psudo-Christian that openly declares, in effect, that Jesus is 'just OK' but the Adventist church offers so much more, a false gospel.

As I was transitioning out of Adventism, I was arguing with an SDA that there isn't some truth aside from, or in addition to Jesus. I quoted John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." The SDA just couldn't see how there isn't some truth beyond Jesus Christ or apart from His Gospel.

I thank God that, while I was in the domain of darkness I could not see the Gospel, but now that I have been transferred to the kingdom of the Son of His Love, I see this alone: It is not merely that Jesus is "enough," but that there isn't anything else.

"It is not merely that Jesus is "enough," but that there isn't anything else."

Which protects us from falling (again) for man’s denominational ‘distinctives’, there is no Gospel of Jesus plus____.

That is such a great statement: "It is not merely that Jesus is "enough," but that there isn't anything else."

That is the complete truth. And John, you're right--Mostert applauds the fact that Adventism is different.
