LOL! Thanks friends. You're the BEST! It will be interesting, that's for sure. We leave next Monday and get back Friday morning.

Regarding the food, my hubby has developed quite an appetite for bacon. In fact, he'll eat it any time he gets the opportunity. I'm curious to see how that goes over with the family!

I guess I could look forward to moments like those... ;)

Grace_alone,
Have fun on your cruise. If your blow-heart bil starts in on one of his sermons I would quietly leave even if that means moving to another table to eat your meals. If your hubby or any of his family say anything I would explain to them that you came to be with them not be preached to.
As a friend of mine said there is lots of room on board to get lost (avoid him).
I am praying for you that the Lord will wrap his loving arms around you and keep you safe and out of harms (false teachings) way.

Thanks Gail! Great ideas. I'm hoping that when all is said and done, nothing crazy happens. However, good or bad, there are a lot of passionate people in this family.

Have a wonderful time, even with the cloud of gloom hanging over the one BIL's head! Hopefully, you can plant some more seeds in the liberal sda's mind that make him realize how different you are in your freedom in Christ! Maybe you can just talk to yourself in your mind, smile, and find the humor in the conversation when it gets "off the wall"! You will probably be biting your tongue quite a bit! Good luck!

Thanks Barb! I've got a couple of sisters-in-law who don't go for all the preaching either. I may end up hanging out with them in the casino, haha!

Grace_alone, have lots of fun on the cruise. God has made you free and don't cramp that freedom because of your in-laws beliefs. God will take care of the rest. Tell your husband to eat his bacon and enjoy it. I like bacon also, but do not eat lots of it b/c of the fat content.
Prayers for you and your family as you are on this cruise.

If they catch you down there, they may hang you from a yardarm.

Of course I took a gamble in saying that.

Good luck! :-)

Leigh Anne, have a wonderful time on the cruise ! :-)
Family worship together might present a great opportunity for you to show them what a simple Christ centered prayer from the heart is like.

As for the BIL.... Maybe make a pact with your sister in laws ahead of time that if the BIL starts in a lecture you will excuse yourselves (would make more of an impression than just you leaving by yourself)and go find something fun to do.
