The latest issue of Proclamation is now online here: http://www.lifeassuranceministries.org/proclamation/2013/3/index.html

Check out the collection of faith stories in this issue! Once again we have some powerful articles. Martin Carey's article about the heavens telling the glory of God is an amazing reminder that God's promises are absolutely sure. They are, in fact, the only thing we can count on. Interestingly, to demonstrate His unfailing reliability, God uses the fixed order of the stars and the sun and moon to demonstrate the infallibility of His word.

Thanks Colleen for your very informative article "Contextualization" I couldn't agree with you more! I know from my own personal experience that I needed to hear the gospel straight and pure in order to break away from the false. Was it painful and difficult to hear it-yes it was and did it create conflict and difficulties-yes it did. In the end though the seeds of doubt in my wrong beliefs were sowed and God was able to get through to me in His word. I have to say part of my ability to accept the truth was that it was given to me from people who loved me and accepted me in spite of my clinging to adventism-they didn't beat me over the head with it but spoke the truth in love and while it took a while to break through it finally did.
I also appreciate how you talked about the need to immerse ourselves in the bible and try every teaching we hear by God's word, its the only way. This is so true and so comforting because as a former adventist it can be so easy to be distrustful of any teachers because I feel like I might be more vulnerable than others to be led down the wrong path. I don't want to be in the place where I can't hear valuable teaching out of fear of error, I just have to compare it to God's word with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for articulating that, Sheila. I have a lot of concern and even grief over the formers who initially embrace the gospel with joy, then, over time, wander off-track into looking for experiences.

The Christian life is experienced in the daily walking forward, trusting Jesus and putting our foot down in the next right step, one step at a time. It is not sensational; it is often very hard work and painful, but the Lord Jesus reveals Himself to us as His word transforms our minds and causes our hearts to stop fretting.
