Gracehound, do keep some praise and worship music going at all times. I know it sounds simplistic, but I've just been starkly reminded in my own life last week how much this helps. Somehow the words of the songs finally reach down to your spirit. Praying for you.

Hi all. I just wanted to update you on what's going on. Tomorrow could be extremely pivotal to getting the answers we've been looking for. We are going to have a very hard time dealing with the response if it's negative, but the pressure will be off if we get a positive response. Please pray that the Lords will be done in this situation. And PLEASE pray that if the answer is not what we want that we will have the strength and faith to trust and rely that all is in Gods hands. Thank you so much for being there.

Please, this is an urgent request. Kindly uphold all our farmers in this land. They are urgently needing prayer and God's intervention. Our government is in the middle of land distribution and there are many farmers who have been ordered to leave their farms, homes, tractors, equipment and their crops and are refusing to leave. Our hearts go out to them. Some have lived on their farms for more than 5 generation. Many have been arrested for trying to remove some equipment etc or for refusing to leave. God has to intervene somehow. PLEASE PRAY FOR THEM.
These farmers are not disputing that land has to be distributed - All they want is to keep their homes and some of their land to continue to farm. They are willing to give and share their land, but they have been ordered to move off - most have no where to go and even have families with small children.

I find this type of practice appalling. Perhaps it is because of how I grew up in my country (USA). There is such a thing as ìeminent domainî whereby the government can force a claim against a landowner. However, there is a requirement for ìfair compensation.î

Are these farmers criminals? I strongly suggest that they are not criminals! If the governmentís purpose is to give others a chance at prosperity, why not consider doing it without destroying those who are currently prosperous? Not that it is so very prosperous to farm. This sounds more like plunder or retribution to me.

Having been around farmers earlier in my life, I know how difficult it is in this country. It must be vastly more difficult in yours.

Indeed, they do deserve our prayers and support.

They will be in mine.

African, I will certainly be praying for your country and its farmers. Are you able to get food for your family right now?

You're in my prayers.

African, I too am lifting you and your country up in prayer! I have no concept of what you and your dear family/friends are dealing with...I pray Gods protection and care over you, and that he will make a way, when there seems to be no way.
God Bless,
Janet

Thank you all for your prayers. We have many friends and some relatives who are farmers and they have been affected by this situation. My widowed aunt lived on their farm for 50 years. Her husband built their lovely 4 bedroomed home. He died last year so she's on her own and has to leave. She is not even allowed to take - say - the motor on the borehole pump. The new farmers who will be moving on with take over everything. Some farmers even had to leave their cattle! One farmer burned his crop before trying to move off - he was arrested. The newspapers called it 'defiance and arson". The courts have little say. A great deal of this is so politically motivated and I cannot say too much here. All we can ask is for your prayers. We do not know all these farmers in the land - but we follow the stories on the news. I will not be able to respond here for a while as I will be going away for about two weeks. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY. GOD KNOWS BEST. THANKS!

African.
I will pray for your aunt those peole who are directly involved in the situation. I have read and heard quite a bit about the reverse discrimination and the political confusion over in your country. It is appalling.
Yes, God knows best and He is Sovereign. I will also keep you in prayer while you are gone.

I'm just wondering if Gracehound is still around. How are you and your husband doing? Do you have any further updates? I'm continuing to pray for you.

Joel and Jerry, how are your wives doing? Have they gone to church with you anymore? I'm continuing to pray for you and them, also. And how's the baby, Joel?!

You are all on my mind and in my heart. I pray for us all!

In Jesus,
Colleen

Sorry it's been so long on an update Colleen. Thank you for continuing to pray for us. We seem to finally have turned a corner. Phew! It's been a tough last month. My grandmother is out of the hospital and it looks as if the finacial pressure is going to be off for a little bit. There are still some financial hurdles to face, but it looks as if things are going to work themselves out. Please continue to pray that the last details will work themselves out smoothly. In the mean time, thank you so much for your prayers. It means so much when things look bleak to know that others are keeping your concerns in their prayers as well.

Hi, Colleen,

No, my wife has not attended with me again. This recent Sunday, she had a church board meeting. I went. Before that, I was sick. I see nothing positive or negative about this. My son will be visiting this weekend. He and I will go to church. It is not out of the question that my wife might go as well.

Have a great visit with your son, Jerry! I'm so grateful that we can hold each other in prayer, and that prayer makes a difference!

So now I get to ask for prayer.

It seems that my wife has agreed to conduct some prophecy seminars in our home for the next few weeks. It consists of viewing DVDs for Friday and Saturday night for several weeks. Maybe other things are involved (discussion, lecture, etc.) I don't exactly know.

It is called "Hope for the Homeland." I don't know if this is a new version of the evangelistic seminars or a rerun.

Anyway, this has got me a little upset.

I know that I must stay calm and concentrate on other things. I will NOT be attending. I have managed to work out where I could still be in the house but not involved.

Unless people have better ideas, I guess I will just pray and keep quiet.

I'll be OK. I just do not feel right about having this garbage in my house for several weeks.

Prayers welcome.

God Bless,

Jerry

gee jerry, that's really a difficult situation, i will keep you and your family in prayer - is there any possibility this series is being held in your home for your benefit? if that's a possibility you might want to consider how best to respond to all of it keeping that in mind. love and prayers to all, carol

Carol 2,

I doubt it is for my benefit. My wife is a leader in her church and this is one of about 4 or 5 homes where this is being done.

Thank you for your much needed prayers.

My request is just so I can stay calm. I am very familiar with the material that will be presented. So, I am not concerned about whether I might be deceived. My concern is that I am disgusted with this 9/11 ploy and the hidden nature of who is really doing this.

It is so amazing to me that the pastor of this church directly stated that he did not believe 10/22/1844 was of any "atonement" significance yet is putting this out to the public. It does not matter whether he truly meant what he said. It is just so maddening that my home needs to provide support for this deception.

As you can tell, I am quite upset by this.

I am not sure exactly what you meant in terms of my response, but since I doubt this is for my benefit, what you said may not apply. Let me know if I did not understand you correctly.

Thank you so much.

Jerry
