Jude, wow! your last post caused a few light bulbs to go off for me. You said "How does she (EGW) witness to Christ? Is Christ less than God for her?" Bingo! That's what it all boils down to. The verdict rest on that alone. We can prove she plagerized, had visions that weren't from God, gave false predictions etc., until the "cows come home". What Christ is she preaching? The rest is rather irrelevant. Thanks for shedding some light on that. I feel much more confident about helping sda's who struggle with the EGW stuff. We just need to keep professing "the Way, the Truth and the Life." Once folks get that, then they'll come to understand how EGW fails.
Thanks again! Your sister in Christ, Susan

The primary meaning of the word "prophet" as used in the Bible, both OT and NT, is not "forecaster" or "predictor of the future," and certainly not in the sense of any Jean Dixon, National Enquirer "mumbo jumbo" or "hocus pocus." Don't go there.
Jude, I never have. If you'll read my posts, you'll see that I have always totally steered clear of that.

The meaning is "spokesperson for God." Go there instead.
I always have. This is exactly the point I was making when I said that she always claimed to be a spokesperson for God - from start to finish. I usually stay clear of the word prophet for the very reason that she never claimed to be a prophet, only a spokesperson, or messenger for God.

4. The list of so-called "tests of a prophet," which plays such an absolutely central role in any SDA "evangelistic" setting, is an SDA fabrication from start to finish.
I know.

5. Therefore, showing how EGW doesn't pass these false, SDA-fabricated tests, only plays into the hands of SDA apologists who will argue you into an early living death. Save yourself. Don't go there either.
Never have.

6. The only fruitful approach is to understand that there are only two kinds of prophets -- biblical and non-biblical.
I agree. I've been saying that.

Gotta run, the pizza's here. I'll look at the rest of your post later.

"Instead, go to the heart of the matter: How did she represent Christ? How did she speak for God?...How does she speak for God. How does she witness to Christ? Is Christ less than God for her? If so, then she is a false prophet. Case closed."
This has always been the focus of my writings. That's why I use so many EGW quotes to support everything. I don't think you've read very many of my older posts. I don't think you've read the comparisons of EGW to scripture that I wrote. It's too bad the one on Desire of Ages didn't get printed - that's the very one that deals with her presentation of Jesus. The very fact that she presents Him as Michael the archangel speaks for itself. And If you'll look back, you'll see I've already posted all those quotes about almagamation.

"We should judge her by this criterion and by no other. We should "go here" only and resist the temptation to go anywhere else, and most certainly not to National Enquirer criteria for determining prophetic status."
I don't remember ever mentioning the National Enquirer, or Jean Dixon.

""Going here" only also safeguards us from getting into "mud fights in the gutter." Read Dr. Tazz's latest post for a current example of such a mud fight."
I read it, did you read my response?
