One of the biggest changes for me, and one of themes on this forum that has impacted me the most, is learning to trust in God. Trusting God to take care of things out of my control has always been something I've struggled with. Over this past year, as I've read about peoples challenges with their families, friends, work, and health (especially in the prayer section), I've been so blessed and touched by the undertone of peace and assurance in God. Before, my first response to significant life changing challenges, would be "Why?" But I've come to (slowly, but surely) trust and depend on God's faithfulness and have been comforted by knowing He is sovereign over everything. He redeems us in both our strengths AND weaknesses, and through everything (all situations) He is glorified. It's not about us, it's about Him (that perspective change was a huge one for me). This afternoon while driving, I was thinking about my "FAF family" and praying for the different people on this forum. During this, one of my favorite praise songs came on the radio. It's by Selah and called "All My Praise". I felt impressed to post the lyrics here. Thank you to all of you, who through your faith and trust in God, have been living testimonies to me of God's goodness and faithfulness. God is so good, no matter what...He is worthy of all of our praise! Here are the lyrics: I will follow You through green pastures And sing hallelujah to Your Name I will follow You through dark disaster And sing hallelujah through the pain And even in the shadow of death I will praise You And even in the valley I will say Holy, my God You are worthy of all my praise Holy, my God You are worthy of all my praise You are seated on Your throne in heaven And You see all of us down here And You have promised You will not abandon So I shall not fear And even in the shadow of death I will praise You And even in the valley I will say Holy, my God You are worthy of all my praise Holy, my God You are worthy of all my praise You made every star And You taught it how to shine You knew my name before there was time And all this was just part of Your glorious design Hallelujah, Hallelujah Holy, my God You are worthy of all my praise Holy, my God You are worthy of all my praise |
