Walk on Water has been deceptive from the beginning, yet many people were very kind, patient and gracious to him in spite of their suspicions.
River said,"..it is not fruitful to try to minister to a wrong spirit, and it cannot be reasoned." I totally agree with you, River.

There is no need to agonize or give the guy martyred status. Deception is evil and you don't compromise with evil. You shine light on it.

I've observed deception leads to manipulating vulnerable people. Read the love talk Walk was posting and match it with his attitude and words now. Walk's attitude is consistent Adventist behavior as I knew it.

Ramone, I somewhat agree with your analogy. However, survivors should be wary of these types of behavior for it is easy to fall prey to abusers' deception and be manipulated easily. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing.

One cannot put new wine in old wine skin.

Adventism is not a mildly tame, legalistic, but innocent denomination. It is deceptive and destructive to people. Imagine! You are not allowed to peacefully leave the group and join another christian group(the body of Christ).

Compromising with deception(evil) is not compassion. It is more loving and compassionate to want our friends and family and other honest, sincere Seventh day adventists people to really know the peace from God(Jesus), live gracefully in true freedom, and enjoy an assurance of their salvation in Christ as we do now.

Love does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness,(SDA bondage) but rejoices when right and truth prevail(having assurance of salvation in Jesus Christ).
(I would feel honored to have my post quoted on the www--W.O.W)

Sincerely yours

Erma, I concur with all your points, and also believe that we should and will rejoice when right and truth prevail. I don't know about anyone else here, but with this post I mark my closing of this chapter in the forum, and I will now turn my attention to other things.

I continue to pray for all my Adventist friends and acquaintances that they be delivered from bondage and enter the freedom Christ alone brings.

I started this thread and now I am through with my thoughts on WoW.
Father in Heaven, You are the I AM and the king of all the universe. Please be with each person writing and reading this forum. We know our salvation is only with Jesus. May we live and breath this every day in all we say and do.
You know WoW's heart as well as ours, so God you direct us where you want each of us to go and do.
May Your name be honored and glorified in everything.
You are always so awesome.
Amen.

Aloha Guys,

Diana, I went to the website you guys brought up. I was very sad by the whole deal. His website was shocking to say the least. If he thinks that going to war with "formers" is going to change us to bring us back to the church then he is wrong. The thing that really makes me concerned about the whole thing is that Adventists think that they must fight thier way through this life. They have to be different. I don't get why they are so bent on trying to convert people who are already saved? It just doesnt add up. The Bible totally contradicts Adventist teachings. They say that you have to accept all the 28 doctrines and then be baptized and you might be saved(I say that as you really don't know until the IJ is over). I am sorry, but in the Bible all you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved! Maybe that is just to simple for some people. I don't know. I am putting in my request to leave the Adventist church officially later today. My dad is still on the board and he could get it in the meeting this monday night. I expect some type of stalling or him somehow forgetting to take it with him. I know that the church people will try to make some effort to get me back into church, but I already have a new church to attend and I really don't want anything to do with Adventism at all. I love Jesus and his saving grace and that is all that matters. Again the website that was mentioned was pretty sad. I don't understand how they can call themselves Christians with a website like that. I don't know if it is sanctioned by the Adventist church proper but it was just a sad mess.

Yes, Ikilgore. It is very sad. He still does not understand why we said what we said. I am not leaving him any more messages because of this lack of understanding.
I want to congratulate you on tendering your resignation. I know you studied the Bible, a lot, before you decided to let God lead you out. It was not an easy decision on your part. I will remember you in my prayers that God and His Holy Spirit lead you on this journey with Him.
I say congratulations, not as an affront to the adventist church, but as a willingness on your part to follow your Lord where ever He leads you.
I truly believe we have an awesome God.

Ikilgore,
Yes, "Jesus and His saving grace is all that matters". I will say this: Adventism for me growing up was better than nothing. Or was it? It did teach me that there was a God. But it was years of searching that God used to teach me about who He really was. Adventism mainly served to create a wall of colossal misinformation for me. No love, no joy, no Spirit. I pray that you will let the Spirit of Christ, the mind of Christ guide you. Do not let the expectations of others sway you. Listen to His voice and His only. You will find peace and joy and salvation.

6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know[a] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." (John 14:6-7

1"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1)

20 "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify". Romans 3:20

9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

1Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Peter,[b] and then to the Twelve.
. 1 Corinthians 15:1-6

Matthew 26:64
"Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
Matthew 26:63-65 (in Context) Matthew 26 (Whole Chapter)

9Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:9-10

Revelation 22:17
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

Jesus is TRUTH.

JESUS SAVES.

It is not by the Law, but through Grace that we are SAVED. (PLUS NOTHING)

The Gospel is JESUS's death and resurrection.

There is NO condemnation through Christ JESUS.

We have been made holy by the sacrifice of JESUS ONCE FOR ALL. YAY!!

Thank you for your FREE GIFT Lord JESUS!

Praise the Lord!!!

To God be the glory for all He has done. He loved us so much He gave us His son.
I know there is a song with these words, but I cannot remember them at this time.
So, all I want to say is Thank You for the FREE GIFT OF JESUS. You are awesome.

What a blessed spirit I feel in this place!!! Had no idea that there was a viper in the midst of the "garden!" Have been so impressed by the sweet atmosphere I'm finding in your "venting" at "WOW's" deception in "cutting and pasting" your outpourings on this forum. Agapeto's psychological dissertation was especially astute and Diana's qustions: "How does one leaving the SDA church constitute an attack on adventism? How does one congratulating and praising God for this leaving constitute an attack on adventism?" were so appropriate. Just coming across this particular Forum Topic was a soul feast of agape thinking and love!!! Bless your healing words that are a "balm in Gilead." Though I don't know all the ins and outs of the attack, the back-wash of your loving and forgiving spirit has bathed my soul with soothing healing! Praise God for this demonstration of HIS Spirit! You ALL have lifted my soul this evening!!! Thank you for allowing HIS Love to flow through you to this individual and all who read/lurk on these pages. God make His face to shine upon you and give you His PEACE!!!
Love, Qweary

Update on my in-laws Rev Seminar. They suckered my husband into playing piano for it. He said before he went he thought they really didn't need him but wanted him there to hear the topics. He was right. They had a family sing with a guitar and they didn't really need him...his sister has been heavily pursuing him...calling and calling!!!!

He did say the meeting was about Jesus and His sacrifice last night. I told him before he went that he might get lucky and it will be about the IJ! The most unbiblical piece of hogwash of a doctrine to ever come down the pipe!

Pheeki,
How many nights did your husband play the piano for the seminar?

Is the seminar still going on, Pheeki? What is your husband's reaction to all of it?
