My dear Tracey,
There was no offense taken. The pain could be seen and I know everything you wrote was because of the pain you are experiencing.
God, You know the pain Tracey is suffering. Come close to her and comfort her. Hold her tight in your awesome hands and carry her as long as is necessary. Thank you for the privilege of being here for her to vent and talk to. We are not to walk this Christian walk alone and so I thank you for Tracey's company and the company of all the others on this forum. I pray for C" that you take the veil off his mind. Open his eyes and ears to your truth. You tell us that all things work together for good to those who love God. So, God, let this be an experience that will work for Tracey's good. She is my sister and I love her very much. And God, you are awesome. Amen
You older sister in Christ, sweetie. Please accept this cyber hug.

Tracey, I was not offended, either. Your reaction was SO real, and it was exactly how I would have felt. (It's exactly how I HAVE felt at certain points!) You have a lot of courage (there's that name TRACEY again!), and it's so clear that you are committed to Jesus.

Dear Father, please hold Tracey close to your heart tonight. I pray that she will experience your presence and love and comfort. I pray that she will have Your wisdom and discernment, and that she will know Your will with all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9). Thank you for what you are doing in her life and also in C's life. Thank you that you waste nothing and redeem everything submitted to you, and thank you that Tracey has submitted her heart and her grief to you. Thank you for being our Father and for making us one in You. Thank you for choosing Tracey from eternity and for working out in her life Your plans to give her hope and a future. Thank you for bringing her here and for allowing us to share this part of her life with her. Thank you for your faithfulness. In Jesus name, Amen.

Love,
Colleen

((( thank you !))) I really mean it! These prayers work! ;) This morning, I feel even a little more better than before I went to bed. I actually feel like I can get through this thing now and that it's not unbearable. I actually feel the strength from our Father. Praise God!!
He is soo faithful! Between the Lord and this support system here, things don't feel so bad -- I'm gonna trust the Lord now.

Tracey, you are being patient and we on here can see it. I don't want to spund unkind but here goes-sometimes change, even change that is God directed can take a long, long time. You hang in there and I promise you FAF friends on here will hang in there with you. I'm sure though it is very frustrating and can be a real downer. Change takes time.

Tracey, blessings to you today, and each moment as the emotions come. I am SOO thankful you have maintained your morality with C because that really will make it easier to deal with what ever comes. I wasn't offended by what you said or at all surprised. We all are saved by grace, and there is plenty here for the emotions you expressed. I've had all the same feelings and arguments and justifications. Your heart can't help what if feels. God brought you here for a purpose too. He's got so much in store for you right now and in the future too.

If there can be any consolation in ine saying, 'misery likes company' then I will let you know you are not alone. I married a non-practicing JW. I was never accepted by his JW kin. The non-JW kin were/are wonderful. He was (is?) so influenced by the JW's in his kin that he's just totally outside of grace and peace in his heart. Well, actually the lack of peace migt be partially because he's a total spun-out crack addict and alcoholic but I'm sure part of it also is because of the JW influence. Last month marked one year since I've heard from him. I thought about getting out my Louieville Slugger and whacking it across his kneecaps but then I realized he has steel knees and all that wopuld happen is that my bat would break and we couldn't use it anymore to play baseball so I decided to just not bother tracking him down. That's life. Tracey, please just hang in there. Are you in Southeran Ca.? If so, let's get together sometime, go out and party. We could have a good time.

Susan,

Your post was so funny! I really don't know what I would do if I didn't have this forum to vent. I would be a big stressed knot of muscles!
I hate to say it but no, I am in Ohio : (
I recently found a newly formed Calvary Church in Ohio but they do not have and SDA outreach program unfortunately. : (

Whew! That's life is right..

I will definitely call you when I am in California next though!

Tracey, Several of my children and me are moving back to the jungle. We cannot acclamate very well to society. We want to save up for our own piece of jungle property and clear it and put in our own compound. Get my e-mail from Colleen and then when we get to where we will be if you are ever in that area you will be welcome to come stay at our place. We just want to get to a more kickback area. I have never been to Ohio. Are you in Cleveland? I have a friend in Cleveland, maybe you know her. Her name is Laurie. I'm glad I gave you a good laugh. Sometimes a good laugh is all that can keep one from crying.

And Tracey if you ever come to Las Vegas, ask Colleen for my e-mail and let me know. I would love to show you around. There are some nice areas around here and they are not on THE STRIP.
Boulder Dam is about 30 minutes away, then there is Red Rock Canyon, and Valley of Fire. And I have to admit that it is an interesting experience to walk the Strip at 2 am Sunday morning and it is wall to wall people.
Oh and anyone else who visits Vegas, do the same. I would like to meet as many of you as I can.
Love you younger sister.
Never forget we have an awesome God.

It's not much, but it's something.

OUr first study this weekend consisted of a book that dealt with hermeneutics and scriptures that seemed to contradict each other and exegesis.

Wine--- wine then isn't wine now, the book explained. Wine then was usually part water and part wine. usually around 5 parts water and 1 part wine. anything less than 1 part water and 1 part wine (something like that) was then referred to in the bible as strong drink. That's one example.. really interesting.

So then we read about 2 scriptures where Paul seems to contradict himself and James. For ex. The law is holy, Those under the law are under a curse. That sort of thing.

As a result of many things addressing the historical context of the bible and the original Hebrew words and their meanings, (and the poor quality of the KJV using english words that don't properly convey the idea of the word when Paul or whoever wrote it), C now understands that the Law in scripture could refer to The Old Testment as a whole, The Law and the Prophets only, or the Ten Commandments.

A last example, is the word LET.. In KJV, Paul said he was coming for a visit but was let...

Let, during KJV meant hindered, but for the reader today, the new definition of LET, makes the bible difficult to read in context. (so then they named good versions now that are more accurate for today's reader)The idea being don't think you can read everything in the bible word for word b/c you have to consider the ideas of the sentence for a more complete and understandable meaning.

Secondly, the book helped him (and me) realize the importance of knowing what a word meant back then. So what happened ? He prayed and prayed specifically to understand the bible the way it is intended (which showed him humbling himself to knowing everything). This little bit is a blessing!

Thank you for continued prayers!

Oh yeah!

This book made an awesome point that C's views were challenged.

Regarding Paul being raised a Pharisee but now in Christ: "Although Paul saw the "ceremonial" laws as no longer binding and a mere shadow of what was to come in Christ, he could at times surrender his liberty in Christ to voluntarily place himself under the ceremonial demands of the OT law in order not to hinder his Jewish kin." (Acts 21:19-26, 16:1-4, and Romans 14:13-23)
(concerning foods and Jewish ceremonial rites)

So, I said to C, this is a good example of really being in 2 places in God... The idea that he could "surrender his liberty" and go under the law. That means they are not the same place in God!" I love the Word of God!! : )

Definitely a good study without a quarrel. It was a beautiful, God-led study.

Hallelujah

Tracey, I also glad to hear about the study. His praying to understand the Bible as it should be understood is a good thing.

Continue to let God guard your heart and mind in Jesus.
